Barry Corbin

Lieu de naissance: Lubdock, Texas
Connu pour ses rôles costauds de policiers ou militaires à la télévision et au cinéma, Barry Corbin interprète l'entraîneur Whitey Durham, inflexible mais juste, dans la série One Tree Hill.
Né et élevé à Lamesa, dans le Texas, Whitey est allé à l'Université Texas Technical, où il étudia la comédie dramatique. Il déménagea à New York pour poursuivre sa carrière d'acteur. Pendant presque une décennie, il joua dans des pièces de théâtres avant de s'installer à Los Angeles. Alors qu'il écrivait une pièce pour la National Public Radio, il obtint le rôle de l'oncle Bob dans le film de 1977 "Urban Cowboy", qui marqua le début de sa carrière. Depuis, ses roles les plus marquants étaient tenus dans les films "War Games", "Rien en commun", "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas", "Who's Harry Crumb? Career Opportunities", "Ghost Dad", "Sang froid", "Le guerrier d'acier " et "Inconvenienced".
Il s'est illustré à Broadway et dans les théâtres locaux, dans des rôles comme celui d'Henry dans "Henry V", "Jud in Oklahoma", "Henry II in Beckett", "Falstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor" et "Macbeth", parmi d'autres. Il a aussi eu son propre one man show qu'il a co-écrit : "Charlie Goodnight's Last Night", sur le célèbre cow-boy du Texas.
Whitey partage actuellement un ranch avec sa fille et ses 3 petits enfants à Fort Worth, où ils élèvent des chevaux et du bétail. 5/10 sur 8 votes
